PropertyOfZack Interview : : We Are The In Crowd

propertyofzack:

PropertyOfZack had the chance to sit down with Tay and Jordan from We Are The In Crowd at the beginning of the Gimme Summer Ya Love Tour for a brief interview. Tay, Jordan, and I discussed the beginning of the tour, their new album, Best Intentions, working with Zack and Kenneth once again, missing the Taking Back Sunday tour, and a whole lot more. Read up and enjoy!

For the record, could you state your names and roles in We Are The In Crowd?
Tay: I’m Tay and I sing in We Are The In Crowd.
Jordan: I’m Jordan, and I play guitar and try to sing.

We’re just a few dates into the All Time Low tour, but the shows have been in massive venues. How have the shows been?
Tay: The first two were really awesome. I don’t know what I was really expecting going into it. It beat my expectations for sure. We’re really, really excited about it. It’s one of the biggest tours we’ve been on.
POZ: Is it an added perk to have The Starting Line?
Jordan: We’re so stoked about that. We’re huge fans of them, so that’s definitely awesome.

The band just released a new song called “Rumor Mill.” How has the reception to it been?
Jordan: It’s been awesome and super positive.
Tay: It’s more than I wanted. I just wanted people to listen to it. You release your EP and you just hope that people still care. The response was just amazing.
POZ: How has that been going over live?
Tay: It’s the first song we play.
Jordan: It’s kind of cool because usually we come out with obviously an old song, so it’s nice to have a new one.

Is the band looking to shoot a music video for that song?
Tay: We don’t know which song yet, but we’re looking to do that in the beginning of September. I think we have a week planned out to do that. I’d be down to do “Rumor Mill.” I think that’d be a fun video.

Before this tour you guys were obviously supposed to be with Taking Back Sunday. Did that just come down to scheduling?
Tay: Absolutely. It was last minute scheduling issues. Technically, maybe, we could have squeezed it in, but that would be with rushing the record and not doing the b-sides that we wanted to do. It was a bummer for us. That was one of the hardest decisions that we had to make because that’s a tour that you just don’t give up. There’s something permanent here, which is the record, and I think that’s extremely more important.
POZ: How many b-sides did you do?
Jordan: We did three acoustic tracks with our friend Alex. I think we’re going to have two b-sides, but I’m not sure.
Tay: We recorded a bunch of stuff, but we’re not sure yet.
